By the way, I have a tele that has exactly that color as well. I, too, have no idea what the color is called. I heard it might be "Midnight Blue"

Don't worry about it, Seymour Duncan stand right behind their products. They'll exchange that no sweat at all.

I got them from Musicians Friend, they are exchanging them, and are due to ship 4/11/11.

Great!... it's good to know what the color is called! BTW, does your Tele appear purple under certain lighting conditions?

All the parts for my upgrade have finally arrived! What I've decided to do is wire it up like a 2005 American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS (the latest that is availble in the service diagrams is the 2005 version). I've printed out the wiring diagram and I believe I have all the parts necessary to start soldering. But since this is my first time, I covet the knowledge and experiance of the good people on this forum. This should work... right?

Here are pics of the parts:

I finally got around to wiring up the new pickguard for my MIM strat! I used the wiring diagram as shown in the post above, with some help from the diagrams that came with the pickups. I didn't have the multi-colored wire that Fender uses, I just used white and black. I plan to put my strat back together and test it sometime this week (hopefully I won't let out the protective smoke, lol!).

Here are some pics and, since this is my first time, if anyone sees a problem in that rats nest of wires, please let me know!

Very, very, very cool dude. 8)

And I was thinking about your question about messing with your pedal options. Have you ever thought about getting a multiprocessor?

I have a couple of other pedals, but I find myself constantly fiddling with my RP250. The thing I like about it is that I got all my specifics saved for certain songs we play in church.

Like "DESERT" for "Desert Song", or "SINGX3" for "Sing, Sing, Sing"

Here's a pic:

Hey Smokey... it's good to hear from somebody else that has a regular Sunday gig! :D

I have seriously thought about a multiprocessor, but I'm used to using my pedals (even though I have been known to step on the wrong one at the wrong time, lol!).

I finally assembled my strat and it actually works! And I'm very happy with the way it sounds even though the pickups (to me) don't quite sound like the audio clips on the Seymour Duncan site.
I do have one minor hiccup, however. When the 5-way superswitch is in the first position, I get the same sound whether the s-1 switch is in or out. In all the other positions I do get a different sound when the s-1 is in than when it is out. How can you tell if a pickup is selected? I've tried tapping them with my pick, but I really can't hear anything (is this even a real test? ).

Anyway, here's some pics...

Nice, but would have kept the pearloid pick guard (no offense to your efforts, but it's just my personal preference). How are you liking those Classic Stacks? BTW, your two Strats complement each other nicely.

No offense taken... I like the look of the original pickguard also! The main reason I changed the pickguard was to give my strats a kind of "family resemblance". I love the Classic Stacks- especially when running clean.

Tap the pole-pieces with a screwdriver.

Thanks Serge! I will try that when I get home. :D

I know it's been a while, but thanks to serge01's advise, I did find a wiring error and now s-1 and 5-way select the pickup combos correctly. I took my modded Strat to a guitar tech who set it up beautifully. It stays in tune and I no longer have fret buzz (well, maybe a little, but you can't hear it when plugged into an amp, and I didn't want the action any higher- it's perfect now).

BTW, is my Strat now a Partscaster? I only used new parts, and I didn't change the body or neck, so I'm afraid I might not qualify for that honor. :(
