hello,

i just bought a "new" 1957 strat relic that was made last year (2007) at the namm show. the serial number is cz507246. my certificate of authenticity says it was built in corona california at their custom shop and is a "limited edition".

the guitar plays and sound incredible, possibly the nicest guitar i've ever played.

can anyone tell me any more information about this guitar?, e.g., how many were bulit (i heard they could only be ordered at this show), did a lot of care go into the craftsmanship, any other background information at all would be great. thanks.

didn't want this to get buried without getting a response... i'm sure someone can give me some more information about this guitar? i've searched hi and low, this forum and other places, but have only found basic information.

thanks for helping out a proud new strat owner; i'm looking forward to many, many years of playing this guitar.

alright. well, i am not dead positive about this, so i could be wrong.

i think that at the 2007 NAMM show, some of the guys from the custom shop were there doing demonstrations of how they relic bodies. if it was "made" at the NAMM show, this is probably what it means.

its a custom shop guitar, so yes, there was a lot of care put into making the guitar.
all custom shop models are limited editions, as they are handmade. i'm not sure how many were made, but they aren't unheard of. they weren't one-off instruments.

either way, i guarantee it was a extremely well made guitar. and you should be proud to own it. and if it indeed was one of the ones that they reliced at the NAMM show, you do have a unique instrument.

once again, I could be wrong about this. so feel free to correct me if I gave wrong information.
