Just curious, where did you get the logo for the hard tailed one?

It's a " DUH " moment....
Or more to the point a result of a simple realization.

You've seen the Fender logo stickers, the one that is reminiscent of the 50's, surf culture, it actually looks or is in the same style as the old Hobe Longboard Logo's.

I cut it up, cut out the background from the letters, separated the letters since they had to be adjusted and trimmed them to fit...
Eventually I will spray a clear coat this winter as both guitars are to be redone in various forms.
Nothing to difficult just what I described on that thread...

Wow, I'm dumb. So it's construction paper? What? Could you make me one just like that? I might have a nice neck coming my way.

NO....I wasn't referring to you....It is me and when you are building something, sometimes the obvious solution to something, a problem or challenge that you have been analyzing for too long...Is actually right in front of you and simple to do...

Getting into a rebuild or a build, you must think 3 to 5 steps ahead or things don't fall into line..
So the simple things sometimes get overanalyzed when they didn't need to be...

I definitely want one now, I just got a de-logo'd neck for $40. Pics when it arrives.

So, could you describe the material and steps you used to make it? Or I'd want some sort of folk art Fender logo on the headstock. I'm just weird like that.

(The way you worded everything has really confused me. I just have too much to think about atm.)

NO....You could make your own just be creative..It's just promo stickers..Available at Fender retailers or online...
But also since it is not a Fender approved use of their trademark...
( ZZ-Doc has posted on this subject quite thoroughly )
....I would not do it for anyone else, but since these two guitars are not for sale and I have no intention of ever selling them..... However I will be building a Stratopartster I for a friend, it will not have a Fender Logo or Facsimile of....)
......It was more an attempt at my own ultimate Frankensteinstrat...

Simply put...Get a few stickers..3 or 4 of each...Cut one up and re-arrange as you would like .
You can even cut the letters separately and reorganize them.
It is just something that I use to do for graphics, but we used Letraset then....

Doc..Did you find that by doing that, the strings oscillated for a longer time span, whereas decay rate lenghtened, thus tone was improved...?
At the moment I just have it with 5 springs flat with only flatting the notes the only possibility.

So far not. The Clapton's been like that since inception. We had a thread on that recently and Eldred even came in an noted that in the R&D, the instruction from Eric was to render that system completely immobile which was the reason for the wood block. Its a hard tail concept but he feels he gets something in the tone from the resonance of the strings.

Unfortunately because of the wiring issues on the Hardtail I'm not able to assess it's tone..resonance...a bit frustrating, I think the best is to go back to the drawing board and see where I made a mistake either in layout or and components.... :?

Howdy!

Swap the Green and Black wires on the Duncan Humbucker and I'll bet my left gentleman globe that everything works as intended. :D

It's a Bump......To Mr Ceri and Mr Xhefri and Mr. A-BigHair and of course Mr. ZZ-Doc.

A little while back I had mentioned that I was contemplating a new build...A Strat Build, well due to being in the right place at the right time today, the next build is going to be..........................
Not a Strat.... :!: :!:  That is not a Typo......

To recap....While at my favorite little guitar shop tonight just before closing... A gent comes in with a MIM " Special Edition Deluxe "....But he also brings in a Mighty Mite neck...Why you may ask.. :?: ...Because he does not feel the Deluxe's 70's Strat style headstock is appropriate..
So I just had to ask...What will you do with the original neck... :?: ...Reply...Don't know, I don't need it..I asked do you want to sell it... :?: .....Yeah...Dont know what it's worth....$20..
... 8) ...Sold...
So I bought an almost brand new maple 70's style Fender Telecaster Deluxe neck for less than a song and dance......

The build will be a Tele style....But with a few twists....Stay Tuned....

So here are a couple of Pics of the new Tele project, I'm off to look at Wood Blank Choices and possible parts...
So much fun to go spelunking for used parts that are available for a song and dance... 8)
Unfortunately the Pics resolution doesn't bring out the grain as well as it is in real light...

I have a thought that this will be in the James Burton Style Tele ( minus the flames )
