These are the final pics of the 1st rebuild, I would say that total cost has been well under $400 for the entire project. Rebuilding not one but two guitars is definitely a plus but the secret was That I was willing to compromise and use left-over parts as much as possible.

So in all, this guitar comprises of Grover Locking tuners, Fender vintage pups from a Players Deluxe MIM, 2 TBX tone pots, 5 way switch, ( All pick-ups controlled by a TBX ) while I'm on the subject, the funny hum I was getting was from either my living room lights or some other appliance being on last I mentioned it. It was gone and they are as quiet as can be hoped from single coils, only the pickguard is insulated. The bridge is standard but will more than likely undergo a change in the future if at all. Depends how sound/tone works out as I dial in the TBX's and the MIM Vin pups. So far it is a classic strat sound, a little quacky on the BM and NM settings but it was what I was looking for.
Tomorow it will undergo a more thorough test with the HRD... 8)

Now it is back to the Stratopartster II, but that will be tomorrow... :?: :?:

We are back now to continuing the Stratopartster II project.
A bit of a hangup with the HT bridge fitting inside the pickguard cutout.
Again another simple mod, attach the pick guard with 3 or 4 screws, attach the bridge with 2 rear screws tighten down so that the screws sit in their recessed slots and the bridge sits flat somewhat on the pickguard.
With a Sharpie I marked where the routing needed to be enlarged.
I said routing but it is just overkill for this situation. A half round and a round file did the trick.

That being done it is to the nut for a brief moment. nut blank was clamped down for the glue to dry, it has been matched to an old nut for slotting marks.
I will get back to this after the pickguard and all electronics are connected as I will need to string it up.. to adjust the slot depths and string to fret height.

Now we are down to the electronics. I have a problem which I will need some advice from Xhefri, Ceri, NikiNinja, and Martian, Nutter or all of the above...???

As can be seen in the pics, this is a HSS set up going to a Master Volume, a Master TBX Tone, a (edit) DPST switch and a 5 way switch. Now I'm sure about how to hook up the TBX but I'm having a problem finding a schematic for hooking all this up so that I can split the HB coils and use that pick up as a split single coil in the normal fashion of ( NM, MB, B, M, N.) all the while using the bridge in any of the combination as a Humbucker or as a single coil.
I also wish I could do a NB selection but that would require a Superswitch or an SI switch.

So can anyone suggest a schematic for my set up :?: Thank You.

Howdy!

Dang! You put your guitars together way quicker than I can! I seem to have missed the last few updates here. All look good!

I can provide you with a wiring diagram that will give you standard Strat switching on the 5 , with a Master Vol, Mater TBX tone and a coil tap for the Humbucker.

Can you confirm what type of DPDT switch that is (on/on/on or on/off/on)?

If you have a push/pull pot you could use that as the master Vol and a bridge on/off switch...

Good thread mate! :D

Andy

Edit: I've just seen that the X man has given you some top info over in his thread. May well be all you need! 8)

I left a post on my thread for this. You could use a simple 3-lug on/off mini-switch to tap the HM. This is look'in great!

Thanks, I'm anxious to finish it up as the last hold out are the electronics. I have to do a bit of reading in that book I've had for ages " Guitar Electronics for Musicians " for some reason, that little switch with the six contact points is throwing me for a loop.... :?

Thank You Andy,
But in case any one missed the fine print  , I started posting this thread at the end of the projects, well after the necks and bodies were refinished, so that gave me quite a head-start.
I'm also working nights @ Fed-EX for the time being, had an interview for a managerial position yesterday. I just don't see my industry coming back to full strenght for some time yet. I hope I'm wrong, but the high-end Custom residential remodeling/renovations customers are not banging down my door, so it's back to school online and we'll see.

Yes, ( sorry I digressed there for a moment ) I could use that schematic..
OK looking at this little switch, I see on/on, 3A 250vac, 5A 125vac.
on the other side of the switch it says TBO-T SALECOM and it has six contact points.
You said On/Off/On :?: Does that mean ON/ON will not work :?: Do I need to go to Radioshack for a change :?:

Thanks..

Howdy!

Whoops! I did indeed miss the small print! Ah well, hopefully the following will redeem myself.

Here ya go buddy! :D

Image

BTW: Your mini switch is an DP/ST (double pole/single throw) switch. :D

Hope the interview went well.

Enjoy!

Andy

More than I expected, this solves my :? most definitely. A million Thank You's....
I may have to get on this tonight as I'm dying to see/hear what this Stratopartster II will sound like.
Not to mention the fact that I still have the Precision Bass, awaiting a complete rebuild and the 3/4 axe all ready to be reassembled...
I couldn't resist the P bass, I walked into Guitar Center last fall and there it was, a Squier precision Bass, painted in a hideous dayglow red/orange, however the price was  $10.00....
" NO... I did not mistype ". But that's for another thread rebuild.

The interview seemed to go well, at least they said they liked what they heard, but there are couple other potential managers with more tenure than I. We'll See..
Thank's for asking...

Sweet !!!

Electronics!? Scratch me, ask Andy instead. ;)

(I know I'm late, I just want to own up. He's Mr Universum when it comes to wiring diagrams. And epic socks.)
