I like rosewood on all my guitars - in fact I like the darker look for everything wooden at my place - tables, chairs, cupboards, etc...

But every now and then I see a guitar with a maple fretboard and think maybe one day... :)

I have both maple and rosewood fretboard Strats and there is a tiny bit more resistance and you get a little woodgrain feel when bending a string on a rosewood board but that's about it.

I prefer both. The main issue for me is the shape and thickness of the neck and the hight of the frets. With tall fat frets, the fingerboard makes little difference for me.

It's just look and feel.....I was all about rosewood and ebony as younger player it just looks more metal..but the last 4 I bought guitars are all maple and they play metal just fine.

Very very nice Steve. Love the headstock on the 6 string acoustic.

Thanks - that shape has always struck me as elegant. :)

And just to round out my rosewood collection, here's a couple of pics (sorry about the lighting) of the Les Paul I got this week:

The gold tops are absolutely beautiful - sounds like you can't get enough of the P90s :D

At the moment I can't make up my mind whether to play the Strat or the Les Paul, so I play both - life is tough. I'm about to unblock the tremolo on the Strat again, just because I can and it's fun.

Yeah The P90's are a great...Loud singles.....I was like that too but it's hard not to go back to the Strats as the no1. Depends on your style i spose.
