I posted earlier about a 2001 or 2002 Strat that I won at the Raffle for Multiple Sclerosis
in Portland. It looks brand new and they said it was a donation from a Fender CEO. The guitar guy said it was a custom colour that wasnt part of the production of that year. How do I get a history of this guitar without bothering the man that donated this beautiful sea foam green Strat?
I have looked online and the sea foam green is a little different then what I see in the pictures. Any help is appreciated

What I'd do in a case like that would be contact the MS Society and ask them if they'd ask the donator if it was OK for you to contact him regarding the provenance etc. of the guitar. If the guitar is a one off or Custom Shop model I'd contact the Custom Shop.

Vintage?

They didn't give you a receipt for tax purposes?

What amount will you claim on your taxes?

Yeah a 10 year old guitar is NOT vintage

Post pics of the Strat here and we can tell you exactly what it is, or contact Fender customer service and give them the serial number. I'm guessing you are correct it is Made in Mexico 50's Classic Series.

Do a search here on how to post pics, there are about 1,000,000 threads showing you how.

Congrats on winning the Strat!

Hi there! Congrats for winning a nice instrument - and all in a good cause. Well done!

Here's a quick photo fix:

I'd create an account at photobucket.com or some other hosting service. There you upload the pictures.
You can embedd pictures if you paste links into the message you're creating, then highlight the link and press on the "Img"-button at the top of the menu.

Or, and even easier, you can trigger an already formatted link of the desired image straight from photobucket, and simply paste it into the message.

A very nice guitar. My friend has one and I'd love to slip out the door with it..

LOL.. don't say the words "vintage Strat" around here.. Folks in this place get over excited, and then there's hell to pay. And we have to get the carpets cleaned again..

You humble me deeply, lads, for I am merely doing my feeble job... and badly, at that: I am very aware of my failings - I must update this post to fit the Visuals of the new site! D'oh! Will do so soon, chaps, on my list....

See you splendid folks around...
