OK Here's A Question. Why Do Some Guitars Like The Eric. J Strat Have A Two Piece Ash Body Vs A One Piece Alder Body Like On The Avhr Ri 57 ? What Is The Reason ?

Because they can?

The body on my '62 RI HR looks to be 3 piece, the best I can tell under the paint.

Actually, oftentimes one is better off with a multi-piece body. The reason I say this is because if there's a grain in a one piece body which really starts to warp, the whole body will eventually get caught up in it and in extreme cases, will deform the pickguard, etc. along with negative repercussions on the bridge, neck pocket, etc. Now with a multi-piece body, if the grain in one of the pieces of wood starts trying to deform, the glued piece next to it will be pushing back on it, thus not allowing it to go anywhere. And no, the odds are astronomically against two pieces of body wood acting in synchronicity to deform together.

I have never thought much about the multi piece vs. one piece body, but I understand that Martian...it makes perfect sense.
I learn something here everyday, after all these years.

Which is one of the reasons I'm hoping to build a multi laminated guitar neck. Looks pretty and should provide more stability.

Below is a great example of a multi-laminated neck by UK luther, Ben Crowe of Crimson Guitars

Nah, she's pretty cool actually. She does think I talk too much though. You've heard of, "Al-Anon", I'm sure. She says I need, "On and On". :(
