Hello Everybody. I played a 2001 Am Standard yesterday. The neck is noticeably thicker/chunkier C shape than my 2010 Am Standard. My question is, Are all the older model Am Standard necks thicker than the newer ones. What year did they change? The neck I'm referring to is not thick like baseball bat thick but it's thicker than any of the newer ones I've played and I like it alot.

I'm pretty sure the neck shape changed slightly when the current model American Standards came out in 2008, but I didn't think it was necessarily a huge change. However, since necks are sanded by hand there is always some variation - it could also be that the 2001 you played had a larger neck than the typical 2001.
