O.k. all you guitar experts out there, I need a little advice on what to buy... A Tele or Strat???

I mainly play Lead for Worship (Hillsong, Jesus Culture, etc.)

So I use a lot of clean settings with lots of Delay.

So what do you guys think for my style of play? Strat or Tele?

Oh and also i plan on putting in Lindy Fralin pickups in either one i do decide to buy.

Both good choices, both are versitile guitars with great clean tones even with the factory pickups. Teles have a little bit more output from the bridge pickup and will therefore drive an amp a little bit harder, but not enough to worry about. Depending on the model you get you might not find any need to change out to Fralins; Fralins are great but so are the pickups in the American Vintage series for example.

Buy the one that feels better to you.

IMO, forget about spending cash on aftermarket pickups and instead buy both a Tele and a Strat.

Are you thinking about MIA, MIM, or Squier guitars?

My other guitar is a Strat.

I am a Strat guy myself because of the traditional look of it and the famous "Sound" it can give you. I would go Strat all the way.....I don't have any experience with a Tele so I might be the best person to give advice but, play both and see which one talks to you and that is the one you walk out of the store with and go straight to heaven with........

Go play both then choose the one that feels right. I play strats because teles don,t feel right to me.

Go Mexican made or Squier and buy one of each.Putting in Fralins would be an unnecessary cost as the stock pickups are more than adequate.

i was in a similar position as you a few months ago (strat or tele or mustang) and i played all and loved them all but for me the strat just had more versatility to it and thats why i choose it as my first fender. Though i have a strat now i am going to get a tele and mustang in the future.

The thing you can do is just play them side by side and see what you like

STRATOCASTER

I love all my guitars and they all get rotated quite
regularly the tele is beautiful sounding especially
for rythym on the in between setting but if
you are gonna play lead in a worship setting
(like I do as well ) you want the amzing versatility of the
stratocaster and the American Standard Is an excellent
choice I find the stock pickups in the newer 2008 and up
strats to be more than enough (I run it side by side with
a custom shop ) she gets the job done. If I had to choose
one guitar I take the strat everyday of the week
and twice on sunday

Both are excellent guitars for what you're doing. The newer Am Std models may very well give you what you need with no mods. I would plan on living with them a while before doing any mods as you may decide to save your money for something else.

Now, having said all that...

I prefer Strat's (though I love my Tele's). The body contours make them more comfortable to me. Also, I have changed the pickups in both my Tele's and in 3 of my 4 Strats (I've only had the 4th a week). BUT - I will say that the stock pickups in my Am Std Tele's (an '09 and a '10) were very good and, while I am happy with the mods, in one of them especially I would have been just fine with the stock setup.

If you can, buy both, if not, buy a Strat now, and a Tele when you can.
