I'm trying to get a replacement neck for my 2003 MIM Stratocaster. The reason being is: I want a scalloped fret board and I don't want an Yngwie model. I also don't want the original neck modified. I love this guitar, it's got an awesome paint job and I have a lot of hardware and electronics invested in it already.

The question I have is this: Does anyone know where to get a scalloped neck (rosewood not maple) that would fit this guitar?

Warmoth is the only retailer I see that makes one http://www.warmoth.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=37530 but the neck looks different in that my current neck doesn't have the overhanging fretboard. Does that matter?

Warmoth says that it "should" fit. But at over $400 a pop, "should" should be "yes" or "No". They said it might need some modification, I don't want to make this a huge project. I just want to replace the neck, set it up and go. Anyone got any experience with this?

Thanks. Any advice/help would be appreciated.

Warmouth makes quality necks I've seen many used to build/repair Strats. If they say it may need a little work that also means it may not and if it happens that it does, then go for it or give it to someone that has the experience to make it right for your custom baby. It can't be that much work and in the end you will have exactly what you want.

+1.

Warmoth makes great stuff. It'll fit your guitar... their only concern is that, if the neck pocket is a little deep, the existing pickguard might interfere with the 22nd fret overhang and would need to be trimmed.
