According to reviews, my 2005 American Strat Deluxe is supposed to have the S-1 switching by pushing down the volume control. However, someone has installed an N-Tune tuner which sits on top of the volume and apparently disabled the S-1 system. Is it worth removing the N-Tune and rewiring it so that the S-1 switching works or should I just leave it alone?....also, what kind of pickups were used on the 95 and 96 American Strats? My 95 Strat just sounded better than the noisless pickups on my Deluxe.

Sorry, no help on the N-tune; if your Strat is an SSS I don't know that I would spend the cash to bring it back to stock (I had one and rarely used the other settings). If it is HSS I probably would to add to the versatility.

1995/96 pickups is where things get kind of hazy on the American Standard pickups. If you're Am Std is a 1995 (with the TBX tone control for the middle & bridge pickups) they were just "American Standard" pickups and all the pickups were the same output. I'm just not sure when the Delta Tone circuit came in - I think it was 1996. If your guitar has the Delta Tone (where the tone pot for the middle & bridge pickups has the detent just past 10 that takes it out of the circuit) then the bridge pickup is slightly overwound compared to the other two (not a whole lot but just a bit).
