I ordered an American Special from Zzounds.com and it came with an almost identical gash that your guitar has. The strange thing, zzounds.com and AmericanMusicalSupply.com use the same warehouse.

Something strange is afoot at the circle K.

PS- I got them to knock off $150.

That is interesting. I made sure the lady typed in that the guitar was damaged prior to shipping hoping someone would take notice. They shipped me a new replacement, gets here Wednesday. I'm hoping that the Fender box will not be opened and taped back closed like the first one was.

I appreciate the many issues relating to mail order buying, but this just goes to show why I would never consider buying a guitar that I hadn't first had in my hands.

As for that beautiful maimed guitar, what a damn shame. I know you have to be sensible about these things, but I'd almost take some pleasure in keeping her and putting her right..
