I need another body for an American Special Stratocaster. As you may know the neck on this Strat is pretty much the same as HW1 necks, and the body is same also. There are plenty of options for American Standard replacement, but will American Special neck fit?

My main concern is that the American Special neck heel measures 7/8 at the 19th fret and not a full 1" as the American Standard neck. That seems like a problem to me.

I've read some threads where people say HW1 (American Special) neck and American Standard bodies are totally "interchangeable," but there is a full 1/8 difference in heel thickness and I don't want to have to shim. . . especially that much.

Do I have to buy a HW1 or American Special body to get the right fit, or does Warmoth or Allparts make a specific replacement for this body's specifications?

As far as I know all 4 bolts are interchangable. I could be wrong, anyone else?
