Hi i have been looking at both of these guitars as they both have good write ups but i was wanting some more opinion.

Is the classic player a better guitar? It sounds to me although its mexican it has the design from a customshop designer with 69 customshop pickups!

How does this play against an american deluxe.

I'm a couple of function bands playing various styles and I love blues. Tones from SVR, MAtt schofield, Philip Sayce.

If anyone can help that would be great!

if your planning to dish out 1400-1500, why not get cp 60s and cp 50s. that way those 2 will cover alot of ground.

cs 69s are pretty mid scooped, but really good pickups
the 57/62 pickups are extremelly nice sounding pickups.
both dont have the rwrp middle pickup.

or you can get an am std. that will cover pretty much anything too.

the deluxe is more modern in tone, not bad either, but i cant pull off srv tones, on this one or the cs 69s too well. but the 57/62 can pull srv tones pretty nice

So out the mexican made guitar is as good if not better than the american for the sort of stuff I want to play?

i have a cp 60s, and is my go to guitar, next to the hr 57,
not to say my am deluxe v neck is bad, its different. still in its world of awesomeness.
the quality of the am deluxe are really good. better than really good.
you can play blues, the good thing will be, you can develop your tone with it.
or change the pickups to some bare knuckle mothers milk. or sultans

The necks are going to feel pretty different. The CP 60's and Amercian Deluxe have standard oval neck profiles, while the CP 50's and American Deluxe V have v neck profiles. The American Deluxe has a compound fretboard radius, the CP 60's has a 12" radius and the CP 50's has a 9.5" radius. The Amercian Deluxe will also have better tuning machines and N3 noiseless pickups. Which one you like best really depends on what your tastes are, they're not all similar guitars. My best advise would be to play before you buy.

to me these questions are very dumb. go down to your guitar center and play them i have played both there both nice but think of it like this. a american is basicaly a porshe 911 its like a 60s strat with add on its diffrent but still the same. the reson why its said its dumb beacause in the guitar wourld its all personal prefrence play them and buty what you like. but i prefer the classic players there nice.
