When trying out Strats last year I tried out several and didn't even look closely at them to see what model they were, knowing that I was going to buy the one I like best regardless. It wasn't until I had been playing the one that spoke to me for 5 minutes before I looked to see that it was a Jimmie Vaughn model.I love everything about this guitar especially the sound which I find most like the old L series Strats and it was the first V neck Strat I'd played.
I played Strats that day that were almost 3 times as much yet the Jimmie Vaughn even though it was among the cheapest, was the one that came home with me-it's just a great guitar.

I like the idea of a signature guitar if that artist/ guitar model has some special or unusual features, such as the midboost or big dipper pickups. They do cost a bit more, but you get those features without having to go to the expense of the custom shop. However I don't like the idea if one that's pretty much standard apart from a signature on the headstock.

My Clapton Strat is the most versitile guitar I own. I love all of my guitars, but it's the Clapton Strat beats them all.

I love my Dave Murray signature strat. The wood, the paint, the hardware are all incredible, but the neck is extrordinary! Its nice having something no one else in the world has. :)

I love my 89 Pewter EC Strat. Always thought it was interesting that these had the Fender logo on top the finish on the headstock....

Vintage Fenders were done that way, and correct vintage reissues still place the waterslide on top of the finish
