Guys,
I'm going to be putting a new pickguard on one of my strats. To line/shield the new pick guard with aluminum, I see several listings of aluminum shields but looking at it, it seems that some glue and heavy aluminum foil would do the same thing for a lot less $$$.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Jeff

You're right. But use something more like the metal foil duct tape used for taping heat duct seams. Less mess than glue!

hmm, I have some copper tape left over from when I shielded the cavities on one of my strats. I bet that stuff would work too. Hmm....

The copper tape you have will be fine. The Aluminum tape that Steve suggests is also fine and readily available at Home Depot or Ace hardware. If you can get it to overlap to the the shielded cavities for continuity the better.
