funny enough it's for a 1997 sunburst strat plus body.

Hey Nick, this is what he said early on in the thread. I know it sometimes it is easy to miss a one liner in the middle of a growing thread. Hope things are going well for you there in UK...

Getting better all the time Mr X. Very very tired, constantly, hence why I missed the important one liner. :D

I wonder why the guitar would be missing that part? Removing it would serve no purpose

Ya that is what he was wondering too. Maybe someone removed it because of the idea they lessen tone quality of the guitar. Some people really do prefer the old fashion shims.

well, weeks of searching online got me no where.

i stop in here and you good people give me some advice.

2 minutes and 2 dollars in a hardware store later. i got my part!

got the size that Xhefri told me to get. the 4 claw tnut, the set screw.

pop it in there. boom. tap it in gently. boom boom.

fits like a glove! boom boom boom!

thanks again for all the help.

next time i have a question like this i'll stop here first!

Boom, boom? How big of a hammer were you using anyhow? Should have been Tap, tap..... ummmmm. Did your 4 claw t-nut (love that name) come with the allen screw or did you have to get one separate?

actually it fit so well that i almost didn't have to tap it in. it pretty much fit right in with just pressing down with my thumb. i just tapped it in there for good measure.

it did not come with the set screw. those were in a separate drawer which was luckily right next to the t-nut drawer.

the t-nut looks exact to any other i've seen on strat bodies.

the set screw is also exact although one thing i noticed is that the set screw i got at the hardware store has a small concave hole scooped out of the end of it where it pushes up against the heel of the neck.

on ones i've seen before they were not concave at the end and were just round.

but i can't foresee that small details having any affect on the functionality.

all in all i am very happy that i got that part. it would have been much more of a pain to to find it any other way.
