Hello all,
i own a Fender Stratocaster - Fullerton
didn't like the Floyd rose system installed,
wanted to replace it to a regular bridge, but after consulting with many professionals they all said it was impossible, so eventually i ended up with replacing the entire body to a Jeff Beck Body. While i was researching, i have noticed that the wiring electrical circuit inside the Fullerton is way different than the rest of the strats ( they all have minor differences in wiring, but the fullerton is is way different then the rest) i believe it has to do the way it affects the sound.
so, after replacing the body i decided to keep the original wiring and asked the guitar tech to wire it as it was before and so he did- im quite happy with the results but i still wondering if i made the right decision.
so this is my question, should i keep the original wiring as it was before? ( Fender stratocaster Fullerton) , or rewire it to a Jeff Beck strat? what is the proper thing to do ( soundwise?)
the only thing i replaced is the body , all the rest are original parts ( pick ups, neck, resistors, capasitors etc)
Thanks in Advance!!

"Stratocaster Fullerton"? I'm kind of confused by this; all Strats were made in Fullerton from the beginning in 1954 through the very last guitars from the CBS era that trickled out of the factory in January 1985. They were wired one way from 1954 through about 1976 (and again for the USA reissue models that started in 1982), another way from 1977-1982, and two different ways (Standard and Elite) from 1983 until the end. However, I know where you are coming from about the older wiring. I also prefer the sound of a Strat with vintage wiring (but with the 5-way switch) - I prefer the 2 and 4 sounds when the middle pickup is not reverse-wound, and as long as you have a good pickup in the bridge position I prefer the sound of it without a tone control - while I have done this with all the AV and CS Time Machines I have owned, I guess you would say I prefer the wiring used from mid 1976 (when Fender put in the 5-way switch) through 1982.

What year is the guitar? How about some photos (both before and after)? Since you used all the original components the sound difference could be from the physical difference in the wiring schematic or it could possibly be from inadvertant damage to a component during the rewiring.
