i just bought a buddy guy signature series mim strat. it has the serial number MSN702361. i dont see that as a serial configuration on this site.. anybody know anything more??

Hmm - I haven't seen that one before, but I would guess "M" for "Mexico", "S" for "Signature", "N7" for 1997.

I dont know how true the info is but I went to guitardaterproject site and put your serial# in and here is what it said This guitar is from the Mexican Signature Series
made at the Ensenada Plant (Fender), Mexico
in the Year(s): 1996 - Present, While this line of guitars was created in 1996,
the serial numbers do not correlate with the subsequent years
hence an exact date cannot be determined from the serial number

Hi badatalata,
I show that guitar as having been "born" 7/26/2006 and shipped to a Fender dealer in Washington 8/1/2006.
Part number 013-8802-306
