my friends strat has an lsr nut, not one problem.
no tone change. nothing.

that "tink" you guys are getting is from a nut thats not cut right.
you should have files in your tool kit to take care of that problem already.

I "tink" it is simply the wound part of lower end strings (E-A-D) catching in the slot on the nut as the string moves slightly while tuning. :lol: I have to admit, the Wilkinson nuts, when I first saw them looks kind of ugly and they are not real friendly when it comes to stringing the guitar. But they grew on me over the years and do what they were made to do and that was to let the strings float better when being stretched. They do still make these and you can buy them for different ranges of stings sizes. I prefer the LSR as they are some much better when stringing the guitar. Jeff Beck was still using the Split Wilkinson on his signature guitars past 1993, which was the year the Strat Plus moved over to the LSR. He is quite a diver though, with the trem bar.
