hey everybody i'm working on a new strat project... here is the deal i'm in college and i'm afraid to ruin my two strats (both of them have a great sentimental value) so i'm going to work on a new strat project i'm going to work on a cheap 99 dollar strat and put some guitar parts that i have been saving over time for a special ocasion... now there is one pickup that i have been saving for over a year a seymour duncan sh-4 and i am wondering if it will work or not because of how long i have had it... it is untouched and still in its box (which is all scratched up) since it came from the store

Should work just fine... don't see why it wouldn't work if it's been kept in a box all this time. I've heard some say that the magnets lose a little something over time but I've never been able to hear it... I know J.Garcia used to swap out his p/ups for this reason but honestly, I think you'll be fine. Good luck with the build! Cheers
