Hi sunnydave,

I have used Callaham bridges and blocks, with great results. I got improved tone and sustain over the stock bridge, as well as a much better trem arm stability and feel. It depends on which Strat as to the quality of the bridge that it has. The vintage style doesn't mean that they are the same quality as the originals (very few, if any, are like the originals). The Custom Shop and some of the higher end models like reissues won't benefit as much from a bridge change as, say a MIM RW like this one (it's a distressed version). Of course just about any stock Strat can have a better trem arm fit with a Callaham block over the best Fender block. :)

I prefer the vintage synchronized tremolo for it’s durability, simplicity, and playability. On a Fender Strat I would have it no other way. I only made three changes:

1) replaced the 6 screws that hold it down on the body and
2) replaced the gray composite zinc block to a Callaham tremolo block.
3) replaced the arm for a shorter arm.
