I was wondering if USA Fender 11 hole pickguards are exactly the same as the Fender MIJ vintage 60s strat. Do the holes exactly match each other? I'm replacing my stock with new set of pickups soon and put them in a new pickguard with new pots, caps, jack and wires.

These Fender pickguards should be a drop-on fit for your MIJ '60s re-issue......

The '62-style guard differs from the normal 11-screw AmStd type by the location of the upper screw hole adjacent to the middle pickup and the mounting holes for the pickups and selector switch, all of which use a counter-sunk oval-head fastener.

Thanks. I wish they have more colors available.. or maybe i'll just stick to the "vintage" look

There may in fact be other colors available from Fender -- I merely cataloged those for which I may have an interest in when building a Strat. I know they offer a '62 style in parchment but I don't have that P/N handy.

I have replaced pickguards on MIJ Strats and Teles many times and they will fit pretty close. But it never fails that one or two holes might be off just a little bit, enough to have to drill it straight and toss a toothpick in the make sure the screw goes down straight and sits flush.
