i've ordered some push/pull pots to replace at least one tone control. i could put one for the vol too(s-1), maybe. i can already coil-split with the current superswitch. a single from the humbucker neck is ok sounding but the split on the bridge is not good for my ears at all. just a personal thing i guess.

i'm getting new 4-wire pups, so with the new p/p pups and superswitch i should be able to get series/parallel and single coils to start with and see where it takes my ears. i'm really hoping most of those opts sounds good to me with the new pups.

when i save some more money, putting another pup in the middle as you suggested i think would be a fun outcome. in the meantime i gotta keep doing what my teacher has in the lessons and get more confidence in my fingers and ears.

in your opinion, do these HH, HHH, HSH, strats really need two tone controls? i just never use em, keep em both on 10. i wouldn't mind just having one or none.

The Clapton circuit needs the two tone controls to drive the TBX tone expander and the MDX mid-boost preamp.
