Getting ready to do a mod on a guitar I'm gonna order to set it up like David Gilmour's Red Strat. My question is what is the difference between the DG-20 Loaded P/G by EMG and the EMG-SA Pickup Set. Besides $100 and the pearlliod p/g Any help will be great as I am not a TECH type of guy.

According to EMG, the DG20 features "EXG guitar expander for tonal girth and an SPC presence control to enhance the Strat earthiness". As to what that means...you got me...some sort of tone control options. The SA set though is great, I have a set in my Squier Standard.

The EXG/SPC is the equivalent of our own TBX/MDX circuits.

However, EMG has not given us any sufficient information about the SPC's gain amount. As far as I know the MDX had initially 12dB before being maxed up to 25dB a couple of years later.

the EMG SPC is a 6db mid boost. I've had a LOT of trouble with the SPC unit though.
