Gonna most likley order a Jimmy Vaughn sig series next week, if I can find out is the soft "V" neck the same as on my 57 AVHR ? I'm buying to mod with EMG-SA's (as in Gilmour's Red Strat) but I know they are both listed as 9.5" rad. necks with the soft "V" neck. Can anyone varify if they are both the same soft "V" configuration ?
Would really like to be sure because I love the neck on my 57 AVHR and don't want to buy another 57 AVHR just to mod it. I know there are a few folks here that have the 57 AVHR and know what I mean about the neck. Thanks all, and all input is welcome.
I would go check 1 out but no one around here has them in stock.

I believe both necks are of their own breed. Having said that I've heard nothing but positive comments regarding the Jimmy Vaughn neck, in addition to that of the neck of the '57VHR (I love this neck).

Haven't tried the Vaughn, but I can't see you going wrong with it. Hope that helps

Thanks Toronado, I've also heard good things about it, but haven't had the chance to compare it. I think if thier close, its the way to go. Love to hear if anyone has tried both.

According to Fenders Support Area The V neck only came in 2 options, V and Soft V, so the Jimmy Vaughn sig Series w/ a Soft "V" should be the same configuration as the 57 AVHR Soft "V" neck, correct???? I really have not been able to find out for sure, but really would like to know as I want to get it on order in the next week. Thanks

I can vouch for the neck on the Jimmie Vaughn Strat.I have a neuro-muscular condition in my hands so neck shape and comfort are paramount to me.I tried out no less than 8 or 9 Strats last March and picked the Jimmie Vaughn because the neck was like it was custom made for my sore hands, needless to say the sound absolutely floored me too. I don't know if both necks are the same but the Jimmie Vaughn was a God send for my hands.

The '57VHR has a modified soft V unique to that guitar only.

As per the products page:
"Unique Features: Modified Soft "V" Shape Maple Neck with Satin Finish on Back of Neck"

Thanks guitslinger, I also have had problems with my hand and need something alittle more comfortable or I can't play for more than 1/2 hour at a time.

OK, thanks for this Toronado, I think I'll just have to take a chance. Its still gotta be slimmer than my Gibby LP.
