The feel of the neck and over all comfort I have playing the Deluxe Players Strat I really like the only thing I talked to the tech is I am alittle heavy handed and say the b string at second fret I have to put alittle less pressure or I push it out of tune when making a d chord. It is like that in a couple of places on the neck other than that it is a great guitar. I just got it and was considering taking it back and getting another one but this one of the 5 they had in the store just felt great and to me sounded great. I love the guitar. Hopefully the set up will fix it. They make sure frets are all good I guess it is called a dress job, adjust neck set action the way you want, make sure nut slots are right and set intonation. They have done a couple of guitars of mine and do a good job. I may have to change my playing style alittle. It is almost impossible for me to use guitars with jumbo frets because I push so hard. Any comments on this.
Thanks

Dressing the frets or a polish and level or crown will probably help. As for your "heavy handed" playing, you should practice holding the pick different ways. You might find a way that relaxes your picking hand.

Sometimes this takes time to achieve, but keep at it and I'm pretty sure that you'll be happy with the results. Good luck!

Thanks I'll be taking it in for a setup. Also I noticed the gap at the 8th fret for relief was about .020.which is alot so I went to tighten the trust rod and it was extremely loose I took it until I fet it have a little resistence and took it an eight of a turn. It helped alot the gap is about .010 now but I don't want to push it to much at 1 time I'll let it settle a couple of days. I also had to reset the intonation after the neck adjustment. But atleast now where ever I play on the neck it is in tune.

It's a good idea to do some work yourself on your guitar as long as you understand what the specs call for.

On the other hand consider trying to play your chords a bit differently, in this case:

e.g. Bar the D chord (1st finger along the G,B, and E strings 2nd fret) second finger on B string third fret (or D note).

This type of shape is common to a variety of chords, it will help you with other voicings as well that may require the use of the extra or available fingers.

Giving your guitar to a tech to do fret work on new guitar doesn't seem like something you would want to jump into without a second opinion from a skilled guitar luthier. IMHO

The tech I go to has done set ups for many pros. It is Lays Guitar in Akron, Ohio. Almost all major dealers send guitars to him for repairs fret jobs, ect.
It seems my adjustments have solved the problem it stays in tune over the fret board and I am very happy with it now.
Like I said the truss rod was really lose. After getting it where I felt alittle resistance it took out the excessive relief and I reintonated it and it is fine.
Just wonder if the really lose truss rod was the problem. Never incountered a guitar with the truss rod that loose.
Thanks for the reply and also try your recommendations.
