Found a new place to pick on my American Standard Strats. I use to pick just in front of the middle pickup towards the neck. Now, I pick just behind the middle pickup towards the bridge. It fells much better and more comfortable. Has anyone else experienced a situation like this?

It happens that when i play the first 3/4 frets, my picking hand goes on near the neck... I usually play around the middle pickup.

Mainly play around the middle pickup, but I also play parts of certain songs close to the neck and bridge as well. It gives different tones as well. Play around a little when practicing...

Yep, I just switched to doing that a while ago aswell. I place my hand/palm/upper part of my hand on the edge of the pickguard (the upper edge ofc), just outside of it on the wood and mostly keep my pinky right under the volume knob. This is the only way for me to get my alternate and circular picking right, with my huge hands. :P I'm almost 6'6 so some stuff might become a bit more complicated at times. ;)

With the heel of my hand resting on the bridge for comfort (decked bridge), I primarily pick right on top of the middle pickup. I move the picking spot towards the bridge for brighter sounds, and towards the neck for beefier sounds. :)

This is very true, also, If your amp is very very touch sensitive your picking style will vary greatly to accomodate the type of tone you seek.

One Thing I Do When I Play Ovr The Bridge Pu Or Just Ahead Of It Is Switch To A Lighter Pick. Say A .48mm Instead Of A .60 .67 .73 That Helps You Move Alot Faster.

Hopefully Eventually. I Am Mainly A Finger Style Bass Player. The Guitar Is A Whole New Experience For Me. Alot To Learn. Very Fun Though. Fender Medium Is About As Heavy As I Can Go Yet.
