Hi Everyone , i have a 1979 Stratocaster 25th Anniversary Body and Neckplate that was refinished in white over 21years ago and would like to know more about it like what kind of wood is it made of because it is extremely heavy ( 6.10lbs empty body weight ) i have added a 2010 American Special Maple Neck with American Deluxe locking tuners and also installed 69 Custom Shop Pickups and a 1uf capacitor ,, it is a beautiful sounding guitar i like to call it " Dolly Dagger " and to me it is a " 10th Anniversary " because it was made 10 years after Jimi Hendrix played Woodstock ,, i would like to know if it has any value because i may be forced to sell her to pay some debts but i cant find any info on it ,,, see pics of it on ebay soon ,,, Thank You for helping ,, Sincerly from D.Faze

I would think the body has some value however its a refinish. The whole guitar together is just a partsocaster. You might be better off parting it out.

Do you have the original neck as well or did you just acquire the body and put the other parts on it?

My 79 is extremely heavy too, probably 11lbs, almost as heavy as my LP. Seems to me like the wood is Alder though.

Question, what happened to the original neck? I'm afraid to hear the answer now...

Found your ad on ebay. Pretty hard to tell if it is actually a 25th anniversary body from the pictures.

Northern Ash.

I had one of these years ago and it was the world's heaviest Strat at over 15 lbs. In the six years I owned it, it never left the house. I finally traded it off for a Historic Shop '62 Les Paul re-issue.
