Greasebucket - This lets you dial out some of the high end with out adding bass...just something a little different than the average tone circuit which adds a bass component.

Slight correction on the Greasebucket tone circuit: A passive high cut tone circuit as typically found on a guitar cannot "add bass". It rolls off the high end to a certain point which makes the bass more prominant sounding, but no bass is "added". The Greasbucket tone circuit rolls off the treble as normal, but also rolls of the bass to a lesser extent to make for a more balanced sound through the midrange. I added the Greasebucket to the neck and bridge tone pots (no tone on the middle pickup) of my Fender SCN pickup equipped Strat and the tone is more smoother sounding and definitely less muddy as the treble is rolled down.

I have had a HW1 Upgrade (SSS). Was a good Guitar - except the PU's and Potis. I was dissatisfied with that. But it was a good start to play Strat.
Today I'm playing a American Deluxe Ash (spend more money of course) and I am happy with that. Would never go back! It stays in tune without floyd rose, has nice medium jumbo freds, sounds good...

Hey pred1993! Like your rig and axes. I agree you must try out the strats. I just got an American Special and love it. I tryed some mim's the American Special HSS's about 3 HSS's and another American with rosewood. The American Special that I found spoke to my sole. It has maple neck. I left the store and came back the next day and the guitar called my name when I walked thru the door. It is almost a religious experience when you find the ONE! Keep pickin.

Pots are potimeters(?). They are you volume and tone controllers. Usually they are 250k or 500k on most guitars. They allow for control of your tone. Caps are capacitors and they allow for limits to said pots. Together these are what makes the distinct sounds your guitar has.
