Wow, am I the only one who doesn't care for sparkly strats? Maybe I am just old school. I think I would take a pink pastel before sparkles. I am not knocking those that like them but I opened the thread expecting a few more nays....I am not even a big fan of metal flake car paint.

I bought one of the Sunfire Orange Flake Strats and its definitely not that vintage Strat kinda look, but I like it. I'm modding mine to create my take on the Dick Dale Strat, which is chartreuse metalflake.. It seems like a lot of surf-oriented guitars are pretty over-the-top in appearance so the metalflake seems right. CS Fat 50's pickups and a gold anodized pickguard (like Jeffytune's, but SSS) are in the plan.

The Sunfire Orange flake helps motivate me to practice 'cause, when you pull that Strat out, you gotta be ready to back up that flashy look with a good rendition of "Pipeline"....

No, you're not. Jimmy Wilsey (posts here once in awhile) and played on that Chris Isaak hit likes the sparkles, but just not in red.

Hi 101.
The pick ups in mine are two Fender custom shop 1969's in the bridge and neck, and a Fender custom shop fat 50's reverse wound in the middle for hum calcining and to give more tone options.
I also have a brass blocked tremolo unit in there to deepen the tone a bit.

It looks like a guitar for those guys who still drive vans with murals painted on the sides and a lot of shag carpet inside. Ok, that's a little harsh, how about folks who still rock the Bandit Trans-Am would dig that guitar.

She's a beauty and a keeper-keep the black guard too but if you do consider white go for the pearl.

I think its just too dark with the rosewood, not for me but I am partial to maple boards.

What kind of neck is that on your Sunfire Orange HSS? Looks good with the rosewood...

It's a Warmoth large headstock, 10-16 compound radius, modern C, 6105 frets, "F" tuners, vintage tint... love it! Here's the part missing from my other picture...

That vintage tint looks authentic and love those tuners! I wish that they were
still standard issue.

Looks like a lovely guitar. Esthetically.
I really love the combination with the black pickguard. But white is nice too.
Maybe white pearloid?

I would be very happy to see a full shot of the Sunfire HSS with the Warmoth neck. Your guitar looks now very much like an early Highway One HSS.

Always loved that root beer, I want to paint my next chopper I build a nice rootbeer flake with some custom long lick oldschool flames, but won't go too much in depth! But I think that'd look pretty funky with a tortoise pg on it..
