Hey i have got a original fender stratocaster 13Aug67B, everything is original, even the case is original and old. What is the actual value of this model? I would like to sell it, so i have to know the price. I read in the internet 15.000,-$ -25.000,-$ But i think it's more, because there were just a few models of that one. Thanks for help :)

This guitar needs to be autopsied for originality. That means neck dates, body dates, serial numbers on pots and pickups, vintage authenticity of all of the other components including, believe it or not, the way the body was routed. That the finish has been stripped/redone, certainly reduces the value of the guitar. You need to have the guitar evaluated by the likes of a Mandolin Brothers or Gruhn Guitars which are two stateside establishments known for their competency in this. Is there anything of this sort where you live?

Hey, i just posted the fotos becaus i wanted to know more or less the value of my guitar. I do not have the time for discusing if it's fake or not. I know it's not. So thanks for the answers. (This is a special typ my father ordered individually, so it might me normal that you think it's fake ) It's unique, the only one in gold and nature.

Thanks in any way for the infos.

Looking at this piucture.

Image

Whilst the pickgaurd is definitely not original. The number of screws is incorrect. Did Fender ever use black pickup height adjusting screws, or black tremolo screws?
The control knobs are certainly not original.
The 12th fret markers look very close, too close for early CBS. I think one of the 70's Strats had close markers. I'm very hazy on details about that though.

Also this logo

Colour looks wrong to me.

Value, I put at around £300, if it's a good player.

Sorry about the hype, we at the Fender Lounge are here to spread the word about truth. We are not happy to say that the strat in the picture is not original at all. Believe us, we would like very much to say that your strat was a original vintage in every aspect, but unfortunately it is not. Looks like in the road it has been moded and upgraded a lot of parts of it, including that body.

HEY Sr. BlackMoon:!: :!: YOU posted a question to a source which possesses a highly respectable and authoritative knowledge base, and you received well intended responses the purpose of which was to help you establish, beyond any doubt, the veracity of what you represented the instrument to be, to which you respond to us with attitude. I am pleased that you already know and are satisfied with what you represent to be true to the best of your knowledge and belief. Do not be so presumptuous as to take advantage of us again, unless you can demonstrate a little humility in the process. This group does not suffer fools lightly.

Sorry I'd have to say it's 100% fake. Nothing about the thing adds up. Unless ofcourse I'm completely wrong about that 12th fret dot spacing. Which I strongly suspect was a feature somewhere between 70-79.
Anyone can put a neck stamp on a bit of wood.

actually that 12th dot spacing started in 65

The guitar isn't 100% fake but it is far from original. Possibly wrong tuners ( transition year so tuners could be correct), body has been refinished, pick guard is a replacement ( Fender wasn't doing anodized 8-screw pgs in the 60s), string tree has been changed, knobs have been changed, neck plate has been changed, pickup screws are aftermarket.

With all those changes who knows if the pickups are original. With all those mods I would conjecture your guitar is only worth 2-3 grand at the most. You would be better off parting out the neck and body if you wanted to sell.

Interesting logo examples! On the 68, how come Jimi's Woodstock Strat logo only had the Fender and Stratocaster, without the syncronozed tremolo and numbers under it? His was a 68 too, from what I've read. Maybe early 68's had the simple logo, and later ones had the other stuff under Fender and Stratocaster?

Ah, cool! I guess the film quality wasn't HD like today, so the small writing wasn't visible in the clips I've seen.

Wonder why Fender didn't use the same decal for the American Specials?

Appreciate the thought, Lite'nin, but hate like hell to have to wind out on some of these characters. They must think we're that 'other'
Fender Forum.

Look how bad the neck pocket is cut on Jimi's guitar... and it's the 70's Strats that get a bad name. sheesh
