Was just curious. A tele typically does. The answer could be glaringly obvious, but a google search didnt yield any results.

Contrary to popular belief, brass is not only a soft metal but it is prone to oxidizing easily which in turn, facilitates a rapid crud buildup. If you compare a Strat bridge saddle design to that of a Tele, you can see why brass can be gotten away with with the Tele but not so much with the Strat.

The bent steel saddles are much harder than brass(it's soft)giving up a more favorable ring and overtones.Brass in most applications swallows up tone and deadens strings. The Tele is an exception with the light bridge plate and brass saddles or recently the opposite with hard steel bent(strat)saddles and brass bridge plate.Teles have a more fundamental note(by their design)than a strat(mucho overtones).Brass is better for fundamental sometimes.Personally I don't like brass except in the Tele application.
