Anyone know of a liscense Jim Root spec replacement neck. I just saw some brand new takeoff Jim Root necks on Ioffer for $140.00 or so in Dec,2010. I didn't have one of these guitars back then so I didn't have an intrest. Since then I have had constant access to one of these and absolutely fell in love with the neck, on stage or laying on the couch, it just fits my hand like nothing else i have.
My normal neck is a Warmoth Pro in 1 11/16" nut 12" flat radius and it doesn't even come close to this one at all. I have tried the 10" to 16" CR and the 9.5" to 12" CR and didnt care for them as much as this 12" to 14" CR it is perfect for me.
I don't care for the guitar as a whole although as a metal machine it is very capable. I like the single coil or hot rails singles tones of a traditional strat and found the EMG's very clean and wel ballanced, yet Gibsonesque and as one would expect, not at all like a single coil, very un-inspiring for me, that said, I must have this neck!!!!!!!!!
I build all my own guitars now, Alder strat bodies, maple necks 12" radius, Schaller 3D6 & hardware, all american and german parts, the usual stuff. I want to replace all my strats and partscasters necks with this exact spec. neck. I have tried to find them from the usual places Mighty Mite, WD, Warmoth, Musikraft, USACG, Allparts, all to no avail. I want exactly the same specs I got from Fender on this neck and it would seem that I can find just about anything else from a 59 fat back to a 2010 american deluxe C, but no other neck ever built by Fender, it would seem, has the Jim Root Specs. I know I can get anything built custom but this is a current production item and therefore should not be some kind of "state secret". There are 2 on Ebay for $600.00 each and have been there forever and will stay there forever, for that price I could have 2 custom made by Musikraft. So, alas, an off the shelf liscense, or takeoff neck should weight in around $120. to $180.00. I would love to get some input here and find some of these necks. Thanks everyone.

Jim Root Neck Specs (I can forego the no dot inlays)
Maple construction w/Maple or Ebony fretboard
CBS LG headstock
modern C shape
22 jumbo frets
25.5" scale
1 11/16" flat tusq. nut
12" to 14" Compound Radius
Heel Width: 2 3/16"
10mm Schaller tuner holes

Did you try speaking to someone at all those manufactures that you mentioned?
Warmoth is licensed by Fender, and probably have the specs. I bet if you picked up the phone or sent an email to someone there they could make what you're looking for.
Good luck.

Yes, I have spoken to some of them by phone and emailed all of them. Musikraft are the only ones to say they would make me an exact one for $325.00. but my real issue here is how, after all the years and models of stratocasters out there, there isin't another, even a few other models that have these specs. They arent super crazy like 7.5" to 22" CR. Therefore there must be a cheaper option. Like I said before I have seen the real thing for $140.00 more than once and will snatch up any other I find but YIKES!!!!!!!.
It seems what I like is always a problem. Like the Schaller 3D6 roller bridge string thru system I like. I dont like the non- string thru system, nor the black, chrome, or gold colors, yet of 18 plus colors Schaller offers and 4 types the only color you can get from any distributor here are those 3 colors and only in top mount string design.
What do I like??? I like the matte chrome or satin chrome finish and in string thru. I have to get them through my in-laws in Germany. Schaller will not sell them to me( state secret status again) and none of the distributors- (I have contacted every one on the Schaller site list)- will get them for me. I have to get my in-laws to order them from Thoman Stores in Germany where they live and then they send them to me through the mail. I hope Schaller doesn't find out about it because they will probobly have to kill me!!!

I was thinking maybe one of the new Am. Dlx. necks may work for you, but they aren't quite the same specs, and probably would cost more. How 'bout a Charvel neck? It's still a Fender

Yea, I would love to try a new Charvel neck but every one I find is Floyd cut and I do hardtails. I do like the old '87 Jackson Soloist I have but its a different horse alltogether. I also have a Peavey Vandenberg, and V-type with floyds. My Hammer Daytona has a nice neck too, its a 10" flat radius. I will call fender once more and see what they say about interchangeability, maybe I could get some kind of answer from them. I do wish they were easier to get in touch with.
