I just bought a new 2005 Strat. the dealer says it is the equivalent of what the american Standard was. It has black pick guard, black pick-up covers, black knobs. It would have looked nicer if these were all white. It has the two bolt bridge and says it was made in the Corona, CA. plant. Ibought it over a newer American Special since it was sold for $749, because the dealer said he was tired of seeing it hanging around the store all this time.

The Serial # is Z5150360. I just want to know what model it is and i can't get hold of a 2005 catalog. I think it could be Ash because of the "unique" color scheme.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alfonse

Pics would be helpful; from the description it should be some type of 2005 American Series Strat. Black plastic hardware sounds interesting - what color is the guitar? Only a few colors had ash bodies.

Sounds like an Am. Series S1 Strat... basically black plasticware, HSS with an S1 switch... if I am right of course! :) Tele's were HH with S1- although they are not that common.

Pics! Pics! Pics! :P

I was also thinking that only the HSS and HH models had the black plastic hardware, but I do seem to recall that for a year or two in the mid-2000s you could get an American Series SSS model with an almost butterscotch finish over an ash body (and maybe it was a maple fingerboard only) that had black plastic hardware.

john C hit the peg on the head! He shoed me apickture of his '95 American Standard he had the ssh configuration. Mine is SSS. Butterscotch it is. I still think it looks crummy with the black pickgard, etc.

There are buttons across the top of this box; use the "Img" button and just copy/paste the URL from your hosting site in space between the two tags:

EDIT- interesting; I typed the words "url here" in the space between the two tags and the board put in a "%20" in between the two words.
