I was just in Daddy's Junky Music 2 hours ago. I played a mexican white body/maple neck one. They had it listed at $330 so I know I could get it for $300 with no problem. They give a minor setup and have a 2 week return policy.....so there's where a used at-store pricepoint is. We all know craigslist runs from $250-$350 and who knows what the people sell them for. I've heard from friends who have bought from craigslist adds who have paid all the way down to $100 but usually over $200.

Look the guitar over carefully. There are a lot of turds out there and also a lot of hidden gems. Play the guitar and personally, I bring hex wrenches with me and do a quick setup. (heck....I once was still unsure and so broke out a new set of strings and restrung the guitar). I ended up not liking it enough and left it (setup perfectly) with the seller.

Also, feel free to remind sellers that you can get a brand new one for $400 or less with a coupon from most national retailers. I have my eye on one right now that's listed at $449 and I have a 10% off coupon. Although I might use it on a used American Standard to pick it up for $630.
