I have a 2010 American Deluxe HSS Strat. The truss rod has two adjustments I believe. At the headstock and from behind where the neck bolts on. I have a slight concave bow @ the body end of the neck. Will either of the two adjustment locations take this out when tightened slightly ?

It should have a concave bow on the neck.

Hi khilsinger,

I agree, the neck should have a slight concave bow for the best setup. If the neck is too straight, you will get string buzz/rattle on the frets. The "truss rod" adjust is the one at the headstock, used to adjust the amount of bow in the neck.

The adjustment behind where the neck bolts on, is the "micro tilt" and is to adjust the angle of the neck to the body, not the truss rod. The micro tilt adjust takes the place of the old shim in the neck pocket, like they sometimes used to use. Some guitars that don't have the micro tilt adjust still use shims to adjust the angle if necessary.

Setup guide here, just scroll down to "Truss Rod", and a little further down is "Shimming/Micro-tilt Adjustment". The guide is just a starting point/suggestion, not hard and fast rule. :)
