Ah, now this is excellent advice. My wife has a room in the house that we call "the Imelda Marcos suite" where her shoes are stored. I make a contribution to it everytime I buy a new guitar. Here are some of my guitar purchases:

(Of course not. Those really are some of Imelda's shoes. But my wife runs here a close second...)

Cheers - C

Lets mix all them shoes up

Oh by the way buy the guitar you know you want to.

Alright, it's done. I just traded in my '99 Strat at GC, plus got an additional 15% off for being in the player rewards deal. Candy Cola/rosewood should be at my house sometime next week. I'll post pics when I get it.

Thanks guys! I didn't really want to be stopped anyway.

I have parted with guitars and other gear to finance GAS attacks and in every case I've regretted parting with the geat I traded, not right away but sometimes months later I'd ask myself why I parted with such nice gear even though the new gear was great also. I'll never trade or sell any off my current gear to buy something new again unless someone wants to trade an original mint 1954 Strat for my 50th Ann. Strat or some other ridiculous swap.If there's any way that you can swing getting the new guitar without trading your old standby,do it as you may regret getting rid of her down the road.

You are facing a dilemma. You have two paths to go by and the path you choose will provide one of to things: regret or satisfaction. You have total control over this outcome.

Hey all,

Some of you may have seen my latest guitar purchase thread, American Standard Strat, Sienna Sunburst, maple fingerboard. It's beautiful and I love it. Been playing it every day.

I have two other guitars, an '08 LP, which is untouchable, and a '99 AS Strat. I'm considering trading the older Strat for another new American Standard, this in Candy Cola/rosewood. The main reason is that I've noticed how much better the fit and finish is of my new Strat compared to the older one. The '99 has neck pocket gaps and some of the finish is already wearing of the maple fingerboard. It's a nice guitar and it plays well, but I have a severe case of GAS and I want another guitar.

Any thoughts or opinions? Or any enablers out there? :D I don't really need another guitar, but I want another guitar, and I want it to be red! 8)

Okay, here's your sign.....

I hope this helps.

Now you´ve got me on GAS for this one:

Since I´ve already got a FSR American Standard, thats pretty much modern vibe, this CS seems perfect for my next strat, all the vintage vibe I´ll ever need.
Don´t wanna make you run out of cash, but since you´re already thinking of a new strat.. take a good look at those specs. Seems perfect to me. And a Custom Shop for this price... oh boy Fender knows how to get people on GAS!

Maaan, gimme gimme gimme that guitar (after midnight )

Pretty please? :D

Hey guitslinger,

I appreciate your input, and in a lot of ways I'm the same, but I have no regrets about this particular trade. I love the new Strats so much in terms of playability, fit & finish etc., that I'm at peace with the trade and look forward to the new axe.

Cheers,

John
