To my ears the Blacktop HH strat sounds more like a tele than the blacktop tele itself!

Blacktop HH strat:

Blacktop HH Tele:

In fact, the Blacktop HH Tele sounds more like a Gibby...

Ya I know, nothing sounds like a Tele but a Tele for sure but I'm in the market for a tele for a while and finally may end up with a HH strat instead! 450 bucks for a good tele tone, it's a no brainer, isn't it? Any comments?

I don't know dude, from the video links you provided the strat sound straty but more mellow and tele sound like tele. The only difference I can hear from the video is the Tele has a bit less prominent twang and more warmth. Good Tele sound I like has a lot of twang with a lot of warmth (HB in the neck and single in the bridge) config.

I played them in the store and was able dial them to any tone you want really versatile geetars. What turned me off is that first shipment fender sent out all of them had crappy setup and fret spur. With the good tlc they seem very good bang for a buck.

yep, exactly.

Was youtebin' this morning and found alot of squier classic vibe tele clips. Seems very tele sounding, more than the BT tele or strat, naturally. But man what an ugly gold squier
logo there is on the classic vibe custom tele... Anyway, even cheaper than the BT so...
