Could someone do me a huge favor and measure the neck of an Eric Johnson Strat for me? I'd do it myself, but judging by the fact I nearly had to give a sworn statement to touch an EJ Strat at Guitar Center, I doubt they'd let me near one with tools of any kind.

I just need to know the neck thickness at the 1st and 12th frets. Everything else I've been able to find out from the spec sheet. I'm more specifically looking for measurements on the rosewood necks, but a maple neck will probably get me in the same ballpark. I'm getting ready to order a custom neck and the EJ was the neck I felt most comfortable with, so I'm kind of trying to replicate it to a certain extent.

Thanks! :)

EJ maple here: I'm having 21.2 mm (0.835 inch) at 1st & 23.8 mm (0.937 inch) at 12th.

Good luck...

Thank you, thank you! :D I'm going to measure my Squier's neck tomorrow. It's going to be an interesting comparison since these are the two necks I've played which felt the most comfortable.

Just to be sure, my thickness are front of the fret (1 & 12), not including the height of the fret.

Okay, my current favorite neck is 21.91 mm (0.864) at the 1st and 22.03 mm (0.871) at the 12th, not counting fret height. Interesting, it's sort of like what the mid section of the EJ must be. I'm kind of surprised by the fact that it hardly tapers at all, but then it's a Squier so I shouldn't be.
