I have a standard stratocaster,MIM, from a few years back and the neck is now broken.. Will any Fender strat neck fit the body? Or does it have to be a certain model(s)?

Neck pockets are relatively standardized now -- you should have no problems bolting another Fender (or Fender-licensed) Stratocaster neck to your body, with the exception of the MIM '70s Classic re-issue model which uses a 3-screw system with the "micro-tilt" set screw.

Ok.. So in theory, even an American neck would fit just fine (as long as its a 4-bolt)?

I had actually already talked to warmoth, I was just tryin to get some sort of confirmation from some fender junkies.. plus they usually try to sell me their necks when really I would prefer to go with a fender. I think...

That sounds good... can I ask what kind of experience you have or sources you used?

Well, for starters, the guy has 3800 posts on the Fender forums. I think it's safe to say that he's been exposed to quite a bit of FMIC specs.

I'd recommend finding a neck that's to your liking on Warmoth's site, then sending them your guitar body to have the neck fitted to it.

No need to apologize, sir. Your concerns would be the same as mine.

Yes, I've assembled over a dozen "parts-o-casters" using mix-and-match Fender components from the US, Mexico, and Japan. All of these instruments turned out great and I play eight of them on-stage regularly (in fact, they're my only Strats). The only issue you *might* encounter is when mating a MIJ or CIJ neck to a MIM or MIA body -- the Japanese neck heels always seem an RCH wider than their counterparts from Ensenada or Corona (prolly those pesky SAE-to-metric dimension conversions). Conversely, a similar problem may be observed when installing a MIM or MIA neck to a MIJ or CIJ body. In those cases, some minor "hand massaging" is necessary to effect a proper neck-body interface.

Ebay is a great place to shop for parts......you won't find a better selection anywhere.

Best of luck, HTH

I'm curious -- what do you mean by "broken"? It's hard to break a Fender neck so badly that it can't be fixed.

Ouch.

That does sound like a very valid reason to replace the neck.

Ouch!

Good luck replacing the neck. From what I've seen here and with the few Strats I've messed around with, the necks seem pretty interchangable.
