Hello Fender Forum,

I am GASing for a Eric Johnson Stratocaster RW. However, I haven't played one. I played and should have purchased a GC discounted Maple neck a few years ago!

I really didn't care for the neck shape but since playing Les Pauls for sometime I like it better now.

My understand is that the neck maybe a little different - aka 60s size and shape. Is this true?

Does the RW have the similiar issue with the string spacing and the high "E" slipping?

Since the pickups were ultimately kept the same pickups from the Maple neck, how do the sounds differ?

Eric Johnson question - How in the world does he keep the 60 mhz hum down with is amps blaring?

Well, I can't really help with how it compares directly with the maple neck version, but I played the rosewood EJ Strat for about half an hour at Guitar Center and it's unexpectedly one of my favorites.

I didn't notice any high e slippage, but I'm not used to playing with .9s either. The sound of the guitar was great. Unfortunately I can't tell you the neck shapes vary, but it felt extremely comfortable to play.
