OK, with that simple answer I went ahead and got it, I figured the new model would have the noiseless pups too. It's got the super huge neck i was hoping for, feels a touch bigger than my '62 Hot Rod, damn heavy too, just under 10 lbs.. It's dated early in the year, so must be right before the change over? neck/body dates are 2/09/01 and 2/12/01, weird, same as my Dad and nephews birthdays. Plus, it's the same colour as

How do you like the color? A surf green JB is rotating between 1 and 2 on my short list of what to buy. The one I have in mind is newer with the smaller neck and three dual coils. Unfortunately I haven't found one to try or check out the color. The official Fender photo looks a little lighter than your pics. Would you say their photo is pretty accurate?

Very nice; I've always loved the early Becks in the seafoam green.

I think that the Beck and Clapton got their updates mid-year in 2001; the changes were probably announced at the Summer NAMM show that year (could be either June or July; the dates vary each year).

I was trying to get a purple one, but couldn't pass up the price I got this one down to, but I'm diggin' this green. I had the pick guard off yesterday and the colour is much lighter underneath, Fenders pic is right on.
