OK, so I played the Robert Cray strat I had my eye on and wasn't that impressed. The same guy here selling the Cray strat also has a Classic Player '50s Stratocaster in Shoreline Gold, which is my favorite color. The Classic Player '50s Stratocaster is the Custom Shop designed model and in mint condition with SKB case. He said he played it maybe 5 times since he got it and it has just been sitting in the case.

Is $500 a good price for a mint with SKB example of this model? Can anybody give me some feedback about this model? I have never played one but have yet to hear anything bad about it.

I've got a 2 tone classic 50's players strat. For 500 bucks you better jump on it. The pickups don't do it for me but with 10's, Eb tuning I can get the neck pickup sounding decent. The 2 point tremolo works pretty good, the locking tuners are nice. The neck took some getting used to but I'll never play without a V neck again. I got mine in a trade, I've got 350 bucks in it with a hardshell case. I'm contemplating putting some Lace Sensors in mine to make it more versatile. If this guitar had a vintage style bridge and better pickups, there would be no need for the American made Strats.

I love mine. Keep in mind it has the two point trem, so blocking would no be easy (meantioned since the Cray is a hardtale)
It has a fantastic neck.
