I take it you've been watching this vid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65XJ6V__ ... re=related

Make sure you have

1) A crap load of distortion on your amp/pedal
2) the back pickup selected.

and make sure you can invoke the harmonic and have it ring loud and clear before you attempt to pull off the scream.

Sorry mate the bridge pickup selected, the bridge pickup picks up most of the harmonic frequencies, so you get a better chance of getting it to ring out.

If you can get the harmonic to sound by picking the string whilst your left hand is lightly touching over (or around) the third fret, then thats a start. Get that working. Then get that same sound by picking the open G and applying a light touch on the third fret to get the harmonic to sound. Once you've got that down do the same thing but instead of picking, pull off with the left hand and then go for the harmonic. Finally, add the wammy bar in.

It aint easy mate, theres a reason why not every player in the world does it. Practice Practice Practice.

The Diamond Darrell technique for harmonic squeals is a bit off. He could do it but it's far better and cleaner sounding to just find and remember where the harmonics are on the fretboard and go straight for em. Rather than trying to flick the open string at the correct spot.
That harmonic is just behind the 3rd fret, not over it. Theres another just infront of the 2nd fret.
