Hello
I've been playing for over fifty years but just got into Strats if you don't count the Harmony,Airline,Kay and Silvertones but I have owned a bunch of Tele's bought a Mex. Strat HSS a few years ago played great and still dose, I just made a trade for a 2002 or 3 USA Deluxe serial# starts with Z2 anyways I've adjusted the pickups every way I can and the high E and B are still way lower than the mids Low E to G, I couldn't find anything on this problem is It a problem for that model or do I have some bad pups? I also have a Peavey USA made Strat style that don't have this problem, The only difference I can tell in the Mex. Strat and the 02 is the Mex. has beveled magnets or post. If anyone knows of this problem and can help an old 50's rock & roll guitar player I sure would apprecate it.

Bad pickups wouldn't be out of the question, but first check that your nut slots are right, and that you bridge saddles have both grub screws touching the tremolo base plate. Seems like something is preventing those strings from having a good, solid contact, and the loss of the solid contact is sucking up your volume and sustain. Next time the strings are off, check and see if all of the nuts on the tuners are tight, I have a 1990 AM Strat that like 4 of the 6 tuners had worked loose over the years.
