Hey Bent, I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you but I just wanted to say I agree with kja- That guitar is one of the prettiest guitars I've seen. The neck is unbelievable... And I know it's none of my business- but I have to ask- what did that whole project set you back? Even a ballpark figure would be fine-and I ask because I'm having GAS pains and if it's a figure that would have my wife divorce me, then I can calm down and not start to plan a trip to Brazil to start hacking down trees.

It’s actually far from done yet. I still have to find someone in the Seattle area that can do really fine inlay work. On the Headstock I want it to read Fender Stealthcaster. All in inlay. The "Stealthcaster stems from the ending wiring combo. I am going to add 2 more S-1 Swathes and do kind of a 21+ sound guitar without any outward appearance of it being modified.

Now with that being said and the finish not having been applied at this point, I am right at 2k so far.

I cant remember and without looking back, I forget the name of the individual that had asked about the sound. No, it has great and well varied highs. Well balanced mids a bottom that scrapes the floorboards. It also has sustain for days. And this was with the first set of pick-up I have tried.( feel like I lucked out on the SCNs) I am sure if I went after some designer pick-ups I could improve the sound. But I so far like the sound of these SCN’s I will try to get some samples of it to put up. Right now I am still in way too much pain. In fact I am on my way now to the doc to get my Methadone refilled.
:(

Thanks everyone. But no its not on a wall somewhere. ...

Now I have a few questions that maybe someone can help out with.

...

The other question is, what is the clearest finish I can do on this guitar. I really don’t want to mess with the sound of it. It sounds like…. Well I really don’t want to sound blasphemous, but like the man above came down, and blessed it. It’s the sweetest sounding guitar I have ever heard and I am 39 and have been playing since I was 14.

It's a beautiful guitar and a gorgeous chunk of Rosewood

The guy that owns Grizzley Tool Company not only provides machines for Gibson, Fender, Taylor, Collings, Santa Cruz, Goodall, and a bunch of others... Including our local luthier Ken, who makes BitterSweet Guitars

The Grizzley Guy builds his own as well... http://www.grizzley.com/sbguitar/sbguitar.aspx

His tips for finishing are on page 393 of his current catalog. You can see that here http://www.grizzly.com/catalog/2008/Main/393

DISCLAIMER, not only do I not own any interest in Grizzley, I'm not responsible for ANYONE going through this catalog and discovering the other guitar parts he sells...

Look At Yer Own Risk!

Your baby there is beautiful... maybe you can just take the other body and neck and refinish it to your satisfaction... then you'll never know which one to play at any given time... decisions, decisions, decisions<VBG>

You might note his last step in polishing...
