Picked up a brand new new COS Squier Bullet Strat in Daphne Blue for 90 bucks.

Sensational guitar. Previously I was a bit of a squier snob, but the daphne blue color captured my attention and the guitar plays fantastic.

the neck finish I was wondering, its like a very, very thin satin finish almost like raw wood. I've never played a neck that feels this good and raw, and was wondering if there is an equivalent higher end US strat that has an equivalent neck finish.

The bullet necks and the American Reissues necks feel absolutely nothing alike. The bullet is a satin polyester finish while the AVRI is a gloss nitro. Two different ends of the spectrum

The satin neck finish of a Highway One is pretty similar. Very light on the poly. The upgraded MIM standard also has a very light satin finish.

Was does COS stand for?

The original 82 Squiers, I could see being likened to a AVRI. Not the modern ones though. Were the old ones called Bullets? I thought old Bullets were Tele headstock affairs? A guitarist near me has a brilliant one. Humbuckers and on/off switches, from new. A little like the Ultra

Anyhow enjoy that guitar KPI

Yep, the old ones with the Tele necks were also called Bullets. I still have one I bought new in 84.
