Since I've got my CP 60's strat, I've been trying to figure out what each of my strat does best. I have 4 strats. 3 of them are single coil strats. The amp I am using is a 2004 Hot Rod Deville 212 with JJ tubes.

The first, is my 1998 American Standard. It is very versatile. Sounds great clean, of course. Very treble-y, but roll off the tone knobs a bit, and I get some amazing sounds. When the gain is cranked, it really gives me more of a modern blues sound, but can't quite dial in a decent SRV type tone, though I'm sure it can be done.

The second, is my 2004 MIM standard with vintage noiseless pickups. The cleans with these pickups are amazing. Really top-notch. Very shimmery and bell-like. To get a real gritty bluesy tone, I have to crank the gain way up, because these pickups are very mellow, but they definetly do the trick. I get a cool Clapton type tone from them when I drive the amp. Rolling off the volume with the gain cranked really goes over well for rhythm work.

Lastly, is my CP 60's. I love this guitar. The pickups are really great clean, but when the amp is driven, this guitar really shines. Slightly distorted, it sounds great. The drive turned up about 1/3 gives me a great SRV tone, and turned up even more, I get some sick balls to the wall blues. The feel and sound of this guitar make it my go-to strat, but the others arent for collecting dust. They all still have a purpose, but I can't help but play favorites with my new CP 60's.

i have the cp 60s, love the neck pu overdriven, i roll the wolume down to clean it up and up to crunchy tones. position 4 n/m i getnice lows with highs shigning through.
middle for rhythm slight od
postiion 2 for some lead stuff, i begin the solos here, then migrate to neck, when the song switches to the V chord i flick it to position 1 B, then back to 4 roll the volume down, then i climax it in the neck volume to 10. long i know but just love the variety.
i know i know, overkill...

i use a ts808 set at level 2 oclock, gain to 9 and tone 12 oclock. and bluesdriver @gain 2,level 9 and tone rolled down to 10 on a HR deville 2x12

Much of what you are describing for each guitar would be completely different with differing amplifiers.

yup. I only play my strats thru my HR deville. My other amps I use my LP's and whatnot.
