Wow... Now it's become personal? Really?

I'm simply going on how I was raised. Those among you without sin, cast the first stone. You nor I know what this company profits or what kind of people really work for this company.

What about this...what if someone were to sell a counterfeit guitar to them. Who gets the raw end of the deal? IVGCA does. I'm sure it happens all of the time.

Everybody loves to get a good deal. If you know something is normally worth one price yet you find it somewhere else cheaper is that wrong? No. If you turn around and sell it for a profit, is that illegal or sleazy? No. That's all this is.

Whether or not someone pays cash or check is another issue. If you want to take a strangers check and take a chance on the check bouncing, that's your call. I wouldn't do it, but I shouldn't judge someone else for doing it. Maybe they're hard up for cash and are willing to roll the dice. Maybe they couldn't sell it anywhere else. Who knows?

I've said it before but I'll say it again. To take advantage of someone elderly that simply doesn't know any better is not cool in any way shape or form in my opinion.

But if you're a normal everyday dude that has access to the internet then it's up to you to know the value of what you're selling. No one is twisting your arm to sell. Just know that IVGCA is a business and they have to make a profit on what they buy or it doesn't make since for them to buy in the first place.

Their website has all of their reps phone numbers. There are plenty of ways to contact them.

Again...you're judging me man and I don't appreciate that. I know I have high morals and values and I was raised to do the right thing. With that said, I'll walk away from this conversation. I didn't mean to offend and if I did I'm sorry.

You didn't offend and my response may have been a bit harsh in retrospect, since I don't know you and I was not accusing you yourself of being refuse, just the context of your comment.

I look at it this way, the general consensus these days is that you can get something for nothing and flip a sizable profit in the end...So the end justifies the means.....Nothing could be further from what capitalism is about than that standpoint.
In any transaction there has to be equitable returns on both sides of the transaction.
Yes often times one side fares better but that does not legitimize reaping profits from someone else's misery......We all want to get ahead, We all would like to be profitable, I'd love to retire young and healthy and figure out that Knopfler tune...LOL
But that wish does not justify my crucifying others to get ahead. The " Well Let'em Eat Cake " didn't end very well for the speaker of that phrase...Off with her head I believe was the result..
Anarchy is not part of business etiquette, regardless of recent events. A 1000 people ripping off unsuspecting clients does not legitimize the practice just because everybody is doing it.

Not trying to pontificate here but a look around where we are at in this society is a rather sobering reality check, pick an industry, ( I'm in construction as a contractor, I won't mention how often I just want to run home and get disinfected.) Yet I still insist on being fair at pricing my services and providing quality results. Today I lost a sizable contract because the client thought my quote was too steep. My answer to that is good luck with H.D. or L. installs, don't call me when things fall apart.
We all cannot be Millionaire's, capitalism is not an egalitarian system, but neither is it a dog eat dog world or if that is where were headed...Hold On..It's going to be a Bumpy ride. More than likely most of us will not be at the final destination, we just might be sent to the showers on the way....

As far as everyone who is trying to sell a valuable guitar having access to an I-phone or a Mac or PC.. Not even close, f that was the case then they would not be looking up these Madoff clubbies to sell their vintage gear.
We on here with internet access are the exception, most people in their 60's and over do not have a computer and many have trouble coming to grips with linear processes. which is the way you have to think when at the keyboard. It's just not in their programming to think that way, thus computers become more work for minimal returns. They'd rather do it the old fashioned way. It's worked for them for decades and they don't understand how could their world have so metamorphosized into this.
My Mom @ 73 is a prime example, she wants an I-Pad and doesn't understand why I cannot just download and hardcopy the info to the I-pad II so she can read it...War and Peace is a short story in comparison.....I'm offtrack here but my point was made.

I apologize if I myself offended you..

I bought a red suit recently. No blood will show up. I'll do the castrating if anyone's still up for it.

Just checked their website, again, I love the names Eddie..went North, Kirby...went South, Noah...went West and Greg...may still be back East.
Their events calendar is 3 months old, But I really like their Gallery. there isn't a single photo with a $ value for that particular instrument...

Let's see...I can go to Mandolin Brothers website or Fretted Americana and know instantly what a particular model is valued to sell at, a legitimate vintage dealer has a showroom, and incase of not displaying a sell price, there is usually a Call For Price.

Just the way their site reads it reminds me of the old soothsayer, traveling salesman with an elixir guaranteed to heal any and all maladies...But they do fit in with the October Halloween theme...
Or is it....Something Wicked this Way Comes....

I visited this group in Binghamton, NY, yesterday. I brought in a blond 1982 Guild StarFire 4. They told me it might retail at $1,200 they could offer me $850.
I said no thanks. I just wanted to check this group out. They are trying to make a buck. 8)
